QoS: Expectation and Reality


On November 6, 2018, AMTOB arranged a half-day-long training workshop on Quality of Service (QoS) for the journalists who cover telecommunication sector, at La Vinci Hotel, Karwanbazar. The title was QoS: Expectation and Reality.  In the session, operators said fiber optic cable cut, spectrum shortage, shortage of spots for establishing telecommunications sites and densely populated city areas were the main causes for the call drops.

Divided into two sessions— Technical aspects and policy & regulatory issues,  conducted by Mr. Taimur Rahman, CCAO Banglalink and Mr. Shahed Alam, EVP and Head of Regulatory Affairs of Robi respectively. The workshop was concluded with a very interactive Q&A session, where Mr. Hossain Sadat, Acting CCAO, Grameenphone, and Mr. Saifur Rahman, DGM, Teletalk clarified many industry concerns.
